Perforations

IMG_2354Ahhh, the magnificent mode of transportation that is the DC Circulator.

This bus can be at times, so spectacular, and at other times, the most frustrating ride on earth. It once took me 55 minutes to get from M Street and Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown to 9th Street near Chinatown. It’s also taken me 15.

Back to the point… the Circulator has an advertisement on the rear window that boast how late it runs on certain nights, or where it goes to. They’re printed on this perforated material that from the outside, faithfully displays the ad, though from the inside, is nearly transparent. The closer you get, as in the photo, the more you perceive the overall density of the decal, but if you’re at the front of the bus, you can barely tell that it’s there.

Which is, of course, a good thing for the driver and the effectiveness of the rearview mirror!
