Well, most of you have probably heard by now (I posted an update on Facebook as well as my Flickr page), but I have officially sold my first photo from a gallery hanging. A friend had encouraged me to join the DC Chapter of Architecture for Humanity to participate in their upcoming “Picture This!” exhibition at Tryst in the Adams Morgan neightborhood.

My girlfriend had pushed me to submit this photo of an alley fire escape just off of Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Well, she picked a good one! Though the photos were hung about two weeks earlier, Architecture for Humanity held an “opening” happy hour last Thursday to further raise money. The event was a success, with a great turnout and, I’m sure, a good number of the pieces being sold.

Regardless, on my way out, my friend (the one that had encouraged me to join) stops to tell me that my photo has sold! I could hardly contain myself I was so excited. So, what next? I’m not quite sure… but I can tell you that Thursday night was definitely a special one for me!
