1. I’m going to my first baseball game of the year this coming Saturday. Even though it’s only and exhibition game and involves the Washington Nationals, I don’t mind. I’m just happy baseball is back…

2. Speaking of baseball, my Nationals season ticket group held our annual game draft last Wednesday. Personally, I couldn’t be happier because one of my 10 games is the Red Sox on June 24. Now not only did I get one of the three Red Sox games, but my brother got one as well! He’s got the June 25 game.

3. And the last one about baseball, I swear: I will continue to maintain my annual pledge to see 30 baseball games. Though I have never achieved this, I have come very, very close in the last two years.

4. I’m so ready for spring. We keep getting the occassional spring-like day, but it’s always preceeded and succeeded by late winter cold and wind. I don’t mind the cold, but I’m just ready for some consistency in the weather here.

5. I got a parking ticket on Nicole’s car a few weeks ago. I hate the fact I got it because I take issue with the “Emergency No Parking” signs that the District DOT uses. More about that maybe some other time.

6. As a money-saving measure, a few weeks back (I’m in week 4 now) I gave up my weekday morning Grande Mocha from Starbucks. Instead, I’m taking that $20 per week I used to spend at Starbucks and putting it into my savings account. Combine that with bringing lunch from home instead of going out every day, and I save a ton of money!

7. Nicole keeps experimenting with more and more recipes in the kitchen. It’s exciting because she cooks a bunch of different stuff now (instead of the same meal every week) so between the two of us, we’ve got a good variety of meals to choose from. And to boot, all the new stuff she makes is really, really good. Oh yeah, she made chicken orzo soup yesterday…

8. My mom, sister, and two of my nephews are coming down to visit from Connecticut today. Can’t wait to see them all tonight!

9. I’m hoping to make it out to the Tidal Basin one day later this week to take some photos of the cherry blossoms. Perhaps early on Saturday, before we go out for the baseball game?

10. I like being the first one in the office every day… ahhh, an hour to myself!
