Ten on Tuesday

IMG_34621. I fail at taking pictures on a regular basis lately. For some reason, I have been forgetting to take my digital camera with me when I leave the apartment, so for today, you get an old photo. Well, actually a photo that’s about 11 days old.

2. Talbot left this morning… he’s headed off to San Francisco to visit family. I’m bummed because we were really hoping to catch a Nationals game, since they were in town the whole time he was. Alas, lots of conflicting plans left Monday as the only day to go, but the crappy weather squashed our desire to go. Ironically, the Nats did in fact play last night, and held on to win! Highly touted Nationals pitching prospect Jordan Zimmermann pitched well for his first career start and earned his first career win… kudos!

3. Today is week 15 of 17 for the spring APA pool league I play in. Our team is solidly holding on to first place, with a 5 point cushion above the second place team. We are charting new territory this season, and it’s been kinda fun… so keep your fingers crossed for us.

4. One of my friends got married (not the traditional type of marriage, but a legal one indeed) yesterday morning. To commemorate another “man down” as we used to call it, Dave was kind enough to invite us over for a party Sunday night. Quite a motley crew that night, but a good time nonetheless.

5. I am now starting to make a list of all the places I want to photograph this summer. Recent discussion about how the Third Church of Christ, Scientist here in DC will most likely be coming down has spurned a desire to hit up numerous landmarks and great buildings in the area that I have wanted to photograph for so long, but just never had. I’ll post that list later…

6. It seems as though the good weather is finally here, and here to stay! Well, aside from a predicted hiccup tomorrow, that is. In the current ten day forecast, the weather is supposed to stick around the 70’s and low 80’s, though tomorrow it will dip into the high 50’s one last time. Thank goodnes…

7. It looks as though I’ll be at Fenway Park on the Fourth of July! My uncle has offered us a variety of games for which he has season tickets and I think Nicole and I will take 4 seats on the fourth, and make the trip up with my parents to take in a game and the fireworks later that evening. It’s been about three years since I saw a game at Fenway, so I’m looking forward to this big time.

8. 32 days until Nicole and I head to the Outer Banks with a bunch of friends. Can it be May 23, say, tomorrow?

9. The dining chairs that Nicole and I ordered from Crate & Barrel are scheduled for delivery this Saturday. This past weekend, we also tied some loose ends by getting placemats and napkins from Target. They are solid black, so they will match nicely with the steel base to the table, and the black leather chairs.

10. We are getting busy at work again. This is a good and welcome change, as we’ve been rather slow for almost a year now. Perhaps it’s a sign that the economy is levelling out and people are comfortable enough to begin spending again?
