Ten on Tuesday

IMG_3416Good morning everyone…

1. I totally forgot to mention the fact that I went to the Orioles vs. Nationals exhibition game at Nationals Park this past Saturday. I’ll post about that later this week, but for now, check out some photos from my first game of the year.

2. My aunt and uncle are visiting DC for the NCAA Frozen Four at the Verizon Center this week/end. They were hedging bets long ago that Boston College would be in the Frozen Four this year (my uncle is an alum), but unfortunately, they are not. Either way, I do believe Nicole and I will be having dinner with them tomorrow night.

3. The Nationals home opener is only six days away… can’t wait for that!

4. Nicole and I are going to the Outer Banks (Corolla, to be exact) this May with a bunch of friends. I’ll be cutting a check today for our share of the house we’ve rented for the week. It’s my first time going to OBX and I’m hoping for a grand week.

5. It’s cold again today… and it sucks. I’m ready for this apocalyptic roller coaster ride of weather to be over. I’d almost rather have the obscene heat and humidity than what we’ve been through the last month. Possibility of flurries this morning… wtf?

6. A friend of mine won a free happy hour at McFadden’s this Thursday. In the past month, I know of like half a dozen people who have won this, including myself. I really don’t like McFadden’s one bit, but I’ll go because it’s cheap.

7. Nicole and I are going to stay in again this Friday. It’s a money-saving measure, really, but it’s also nice to wake up at a reasonable hour on Saturday and feel as though you can be productive during the day. All too often we will go to The Reef “for a drink or two,” and up up being there until 200am.

8. I renewed my membership with Red Sox Nation yesterday. I know what many of you are thinking, and that’s fine. The only reason I really do it is because I want to have a subscription to the MLB Gameday Audio service. Gameday Audio and the RSN membership cost the same amount, plus I get some swag from RSN, as well as discounts at the team store and ticket opportunities. I know I don’t always go to a game at Fenway, but it’s nice to know that if I do, I’ve got some perks to take advantage of while there.

9. Speaking of which, unless I’m super busy today (boss is back in today from 10 days in Helsinki), I’ll be listening to the Sox season opener this afternoon starting at 405pm. I won’t be able to listen to the whole game, but I should be able to get at least the first half before I have to leave the office.

10. And last but not least, a friend had shared this with me a few weeks ago, but I finally just got around to listening to the whole thing yesterday. It’s unbelievable.

Random - I think one of the owners of McFaddens is a CUA alum.

Isn’t Corrolla where they have the wild horses on the beach? I expect to see lots of good photos from that trip! ;)
