As promised… another post on Monday morning. I’m alone in the office again this morning and actually just got an email from my boss saying thet he won’t be in today. Take into account the beautiful weather this morning, and this is shaping up to be a good Monday. Well, aside from the fact that my body is in pain and in more ways than one.

A friend of mine recently bought a house and has enlisted the help of friends to assist in the renovation of the interior. It is in dire need of a massive update, so all day yesterday, I whacked away in the basement finishing up the demolition and cleaning there to make way for fresh stud walls, sheetrock, a new bathroom, and of course, fresh paint! My body aches today, surely from all of the labor I was pressed into.

Also, however, I’ve been feeling as though I’m slowly sliding into sickness. It started I think around Thursday last week and has not gotten worse, but it has not yet gotten better. This happens to me just about every spring and/or fall, where the change of seasons brings a sore throat, achy back, and congestion. I’m often able to recognize it soon enough that I can start to take some measures to at least slow or stop its progress, even if it remains stagnant for 3 or 4 days, and eventually turn it back to start feeling better. I think that’s where I am today, so hopefully tomorrow I’ll start climbing back to 100%.

In other news, Nicole and I got to see my mom, sister, and two of my nephews from up north on Tuesday night last week. Mom cooked some sauce and pasta for dinner, and we hung out at my brother’s house from around 600pm to almost 1000pm.

Also on Tuesday last week, Nicole and I made another trip to Crate & Barrel and purchased the dining chairs we had finally settled on. We got our dining table almost a year ago from C&B, and the search began for the chair that we both really, really liked. After a whole lot of searching and very few results, we kept coming back to the Folio chair from C&B. They will be delivered on April 25.

As I’m wrapping up this post, I’m noticing the sky has gone dark and it looks as though rain is imminent. Sad…
