Today, ESPN kicked off Jimmy V Week, in honor of famed college basketball coach Jimmy Valvano. At the inaugural ESPY awards event in 1993, Jimmy V was awarded the very first Arthur Ashe Courage and Humanitarian Award and delivered his instantly famous “Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.” speech (video below, transcript here).
