this is a roughly 220 degree panorama of cairo comprised of 8 different pictures from the top of cairo tower, located on the west bank of the river nile. if one were to place a compass on cairo tower, you would see the left edge of the picture is just west of north, and the right edge of the picture is just west of south, with due east basically dead in the center.
